Teams of astronomy students took telescope images of stars that were predicted to have a planet crossing the face of the star at the time of their pictures. Planets around stars other than our Sun are called exoplanets. It means that star has a solar system like our Sun. It is called a transit when the exoplanet crosses in front of its star during its orbit, from our point of view. Students used an online laboratory from the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics for telescope access and analysis of data.
