With minds so complex, so sharp and not bleak
A view of time passing in a linear way
Like day after day after day after day
A moral compas surpassing other animals' thoughts
We do things we think that other people ought
Computations of numbers and the highest IQs
Our brains are like monkeys except that they grew
We're realy unique, I'd like you to know
And through this poem, that's just what I'll show
Meme - A Araujo
make more the merry,
while winsome wilds
work ways without wind.
So symptoms show signs,
separate sweet sepulcher.
Else promise naught,
but make much the same:
one for all or all for one,
be king or ignoble,
pissant and peasant,
slave or sovereign--
and yet deeper
than imitation lies
some immortality:
be its so, that estranger,
humanity.
A baby cried
Frozen in awe, I was.
“What are you doing?” She smiled at the baby and replied.
I was just one of her in laws.
The miracle of life is taken with pride
As the newborn was met with applause.
A smile spread across the infant's face
As her mother handed her over to her father.
The smile was taken with a giggle of grace
It took a slight chance for this moment to be bothered
A life was born in such a comforting place.
That baby was given love and absolutely smothered.
As life begins to ramp up, the girl grows as a person.
She began to read and write.
Her tone was growing, easy to converse in.
The young girl was coloring what used to be white,
With a grin on her face, she said, “I wanna nurse in a hospital.”
As she grew older, learned more, her future looked bright.
The life of a teenager, studying and working hard.
It all slowly came full circle as she experienced more and more.
She conversed with most at her school, including the security guard
Little did she know what life had in store.
Pushing her to her limits, no need for the sympathy card
When she has her parents to help her through what seemed like the Trojan war.
Without a doubt, she never held her head down.
A smile on her face? No need for a shutdown.
You were in the same situation once.
You thought you were a dunce,
When in fact, you were no Doc Brown.
It came down to keeping it safe or pulling off “stunts”
She learned the facts of life in high school
Taught in Math, literature, history, and science, that there are no fools
That same smile stayed plastered on her face as she grew older.
Her decisions became more thought out, bolder.
Until she met this guy, this girl thought he was cool.
Then came heartbreak, he gave her the cold shoulder.
Experiences and encounters with different people influence how you grow.
It all comes full circle, whether it be fast or slow.
Everyone has their highs and lows.
But it's those highs and lows that help you know,
What is ahead of you, just say hello.
Because you never know who you'll be sitting next to once you're old.
Smile and learn from your “mistakes”
No need to sit and dwell on the past heartaches
You have grown, living is a give and take.
Don't think about pulling that emergency brake
Never forget the ones who made you for goodness sake.
Because now you're an adult with decisions you must make.
